So the ‘Photographic Journeys’ event on Friday night was an absolute success and even though it was put together in less than two weeks, it was totally sold out. Myself and five other local photographers took to the stage at Kardomah94 in Hull to present recent projects and for most of us this was the first time we had been on a stage in front of a crowd, but everyone did a marvellous job. My good friend Neil Nicklin who put the event together did a amazing job hosting it and telling the story of Harri, the brave young man who is battling cancer and the reason we all came together to raise money to support him through this awful time.
The target for the fund raising was about £600 pound which was to buy Harri an iPad to use while travelling to and from and during his treatment sessions and at the end of the night after all of the raffle tickets had been sold, the money from the entry tickets and donations had been tallied up, the target was well and truly smashed and we had raised an amazing £1300.
A huge thank you goes out to everyone who came to the event and for all of the donations and to those who couldn’t make it and still donated and thanks to Dave Holder for photographing the event.
Huge thanks also go to those who sponsored and supported the event.
